วันช้างโลก

วันที่ 12 สิงหาคม ของทุกปี นอกจากจะเป็นวันแม่แห่งชาติแล้ว ยังเป็นวันช้างโลกอีกด้วย มูลนิธิคืนช้างสู่ธรรมชาติได้ประกาศให้ วันที่ 12 สิงหาคม ของทุกปี เป็นวันช้างโลก ตั้งแต่ ปีพ.ศ. 2555  เพื่อเทิดพระเกียรติ สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ในพระมหากรุณาธิคุณที่ทรงมีความห่วงใยต่อช้างไทยและให้เราร่วมกันอนุรักษ์ไว้มิให้สูญพันธุ์ 

On August 12 of every year, in addition to being the National Mother's Day it is also World Elephant Day. The Elephant Reintroduction Foundation has declared August 12 of every year as World Elephant Day since 2012 to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother in the grace of concerning for Thai elephants and for us to conserve the elephants from extinction.
