Wild and Captive Elephants are Friends

Our field staff found a group of elephants in Phu Phan National Park: Pang Baukeaw (wild elephant), Pang Deejai, Pang Noklea, Pang Buangern and Pang Ploy. หลังจากใช้อุปกรณ์ติดตามช้างได้ไม่นานก็พบกลุ่มช้างอยู่ด้วยกัน คือ พังบัวแก้ว(ช้างป่า) พังดีใจ พังนกแล พังบัวเงินและพังพลอย

What the Elephants Plant in the Forest

Our field staff at Sakon Nakorn Substation found many plants are growing in elephant's dungs. เจ้าหน้าที่ภาคสนามจังหวัดสกลนครร่วมกับเจ้าหน้าที่ชุดติดตามช้างอุทยานแห่งชาติภูพาน จังหวัดสกลนคร เข้าติดตามพฤติกรรมช้างในป่าภูพานพบกับมูลช้างที่มีพืชขึ้น ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นว่าช้างเป็นผู้ช่วยกระจายพันธุ์พืชให้ทั่วป่าหรือเรียกกันว่า "ช้างปลูกป่า"

Mae Yao Reservoir - Lampang

Water in Mae Yao Reservoir was drained for farming therefore the level of water is very low at this time .

ช่วงนี้เป็นช่วงที่ชาวบ้านกำลังจะทำนาปลูกข้าว ทำให้ทางหน่วยปล่อยน้ำจากอ่างเก็บน้ำแม่ยาว (แคมป์ 2) จนน้ำแห้งคอด

Our field staff at Sakon Nakorn Substation is collecting Pang Nimnual's Saliva sample to send for laboratory examination. เจ้าหน้าที่ภาคสนามจังหวัดสกลนครกำลังเก็บตัวอย่างน้ำลายของพังนิ่มนวลเพื่อนำไปตรวจโรคที่ห้องปฏิบัติการ : การเก็บน้ำลายช้างมีหลายวิธีแต่วิธีที่เจ้าหน้าที่ภาคสนามดำเนินการคือการนำน้ำเกลือบริสุทธิ์ใส่ในถังน้ำแล้วให้ช้างดูดน้ำเกลือในถังน้ำแล้วเก็บตัวอย่างน้ำเกลือส่งห้องปฏิบัติการเพื่อตรวจโรค

Planting Bananas for Elephants

Our female elephant (Pang Yai) is living in Sublangka Wildlife Sanctuary with happiness. พังใหญ่ท่ามกลางธรรมชาติในป่าซับลังกา
Pang Thongkam, our elephant in Sublangka Forest is walking up from Lamsonthi creek after she has drunk water. พังทองคำกำลังเดินขึ้นจากลำสนธิหลังจากที่กินน้ำเรียบร้อยแล้ว
Pang Prayat (Pang Dokkaw) is happy with lot of food in the rainy season. พังประหยัด(ดอกขาว)กำลังมีความสุขกับการกินอาหารและน้ำในป่าซับลังกา

Successful Elephant Regrouping at Phu Phan National Park

After The Foundation has released our 2 elephants (Pang Deejai and Pang Noklea) to the forest at Phuphan National Park to join "Pretest Releasing Elephant Project" according to royal initiative of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit at Phuphan National Park, Sakon Nakhon they were greeted by Pang Buakeaw, the only wild elephant in Phu Phan Forest and she brought Pang Bua Ngern and Pang Ploy to greet new friends too. Now they are grouping together in the forest : 4 captive elephants and one wild elephant . Pang Nimnuan is still by her solitary self.

ตามที่เมื่อวันที่ 22 มิถุนายน 2553 ได้มีการส่งมอบช้างจากมูลนิธิคืนช้างสู่ธรรมชาติจำนวน 2 ตัว คือ พังดีใจและพังนกแล ให้แก่อุทยานแห่งชาติภูพานเพื่อปล่อยในโครงการทดลองปล่อยช้างคืนสู่ธรรมชาติ ตามแนวพระราชดำริ สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าฯ พระบรมราชินีนาถ และเมื่อวันที่ 28 มิถุนายน 2553 ช้างป่า(พังบัวแก้ว) ได้เข้ามารับพังดีใจและพังนกแลให้เป็นสมาชิกใหม่ของป่าภูพานที่บริเวณจุดดูแลหน่วยพิทักษ์ป่าแก้งมดแดง อุทยานแห่งชาติภูพาน โดยในการเข้ามารับครั้งนี้มีพังบัวเงินและพังพลอยช้างบ้านที่กลับมาอยู่ป่ามาร่วมรับช้างใหม่ 2 ตัวด้วย

Mae Laow-Mae Seh Wildlife Sanctuary-Chiangmai

Khun Chonsaporn Aphiwongngam Coordinator of Chiang Mai and Lampang office visits Mae Laow-Mae Seh Wildlife Sanctuary which it is located in M. 5 Pa Pea area, Mae Teang District, Chiang Mai Province. Mae Laow- Mae Seh Wildlife Sanctuary covers an area of 321,250 Rai of Maeteang district, Chiang Mai Province and Pai District, Maehongson Province. Khun Chonsaporn gets there by car (route 1095), it is near Hui Namdung National Park and Pong Dueat Hot Spring . The forester told that from tracking in the forest they found 2-3 elephants in this area. คุณชลษพร อภิวงค์งาม เจ้าหน้าที่ประสานงานเชียงใหม่-ลำปาง ได้มีโอกาสเข้าไปเยี่ยมเขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าแม่เลา-แม่แสะ โดยที่ทำการเขตตั้งอยู่เขตหมู่ 5 ต.ป่าแป๋ อ.แม่แตง จ.เชียงใหม่ มีพื้นที่ประมาณ 321,250 ไร่ หรือ 541 ตารางวา พื้นที่ครอบคลุม 2 จังหวัด คือ อ. แม่แตง จ. เชียงใหม่ และ อ.ปาย จ. แม่ฮ่องสอน เดินทางโดยใช้ทางหลวงหมายเลย 1095 (แม่มาลัย-ปาย)และมีพื้นที่อยู่ติดกับอุทยานแห่งชาติห้วยน้ำดังและน้ำพุร้อนโป่งเดือด จากการสอบถามของเจ้าหน้าที่ป่าไม้ ได้ให้ข้อมูลว่าจากการสำรวจพื้นที่เคยพบช้างป่าประมาณ 2-3 ตัว อยู่บริเวณพื้นที่ฝั่ง อ.ปาย จ.แม่ฮ่อนสอน

M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra, Governor of Bangkok gives a cheque of 500,000 baht to M.R Jiyakorn Sesavej, Director and Treasurer of Elephant Reintroduction Foundation at the "Ongoing progress of Elephant Smile Project" ceremony at Rattanagosin, Bangkok City Hall.
ม.ร.ว.สุขุมพันธุ์ บริพัตร ผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพมหานคร แถลงข่าวความคืบหน้าการดำเนินงาน โครงการช้างยิ้มและการประกาศใช้ข้อบัญญัติกรุงเทพมหานครการควบคุมการนำช้างมาหารายได้ในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร และได้มอบเงินจำนวน 500,000 บาทเพื่อร่วมสนับสนุนการดำเนินงานของมูลนิธิฯ ให้แก่ ม.ร.ว.จิยากร เสสะเวช กรรมการและเหรัญญิก มูลนิธิคืนช้างสู่ธรรมชาติ ณ ห้องรัตนโกสินทร์ ศาลาว่าการกรุงเทพมหานคร

Pang Nongnart is rehabilitating in The forest, our female elephant can select her favourite food and now she is get well. พังนงนารถปรับพฤติกรรมโดยการทดลองปล่อยในป่าดอยผาเมือง โดยเค้าสามารถเลือกกินอาหารได้อย่างอิสระ และมีสุขภาพดีขึ้น
