เมื่อวันที่ 31 ธันวาคม 2562 เวลาประมาณ 17.30 น. เจ้าหน้าที่พบพังลำปางล้ม (เสียชีวิต)เนื่องด้วยความชรา ที่จุดผูกเลี้ยงบริเวณชายป่าบ้านตะเคียนโพรง ต.ยางสาว อ.วิเชียรบุรี พิกัด 0748080, 1744843 โดยเจ้าหน้าที่ภาคสนามได้แจ้งเหตุให้หัวหน้าวสันต์ กล่อมจินดา หัวหน้าเขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าซับลังกา และนายสัตวแพทย์ที่ปรึกษา น.สพ.ทวีโภค อังควานิช ทราบและเข้ามาตรวจสอบยังจุดที่ช้างล้มพร้อมกับได้บันทึกแจ้งความกับสถานีตำรวจภูธรวิเชียรบุรีไว้เป็นหลักฐาน หลังจากนั้นเจ้าหน้าที่ได้ช่วยกันทำการฝังพังลำปางให้อยู่อย่างสงบในป่าซับลังกาตลอดไป

The field staff have informed Khun Wasan Klomchinda, Chief of Sublanka Wildlife Sanctuary And the veterinarian's consultant, Mor Thaweepoke Angkavanich, DVM, came to inspect where the elephant died and recorded the report with Wichian Buri Police Station as evidence. After that, they helped to bury Pang Lampang to remain calm in Sublangka Forest forever.
