As Plai Udom was walking back to return into the forest he was hit and killed instantly by the Lampang -Chiang Mai bus, despite warnings from bystanders and also the bus passenger on the jump seat next to the driver. It was Plai Udom 's last meal. The Foundation has compensated the vendor for the bananas.
