The foundation bought 2 new elephants from soi Rangsit 13, Phathumthani province. Both of them arrive at camp 2, Lampang at 07.00 AM in this morning.

เช้าวันนี้ ทางมูลนิธิฯ ได้รับช้าง จำนวน 2 ตัวเข้าสู่โครงการ ซึ่งออกเดินทางมาจากรังสิต และถึงแคมป์ 2 ลำปางเมื่อเวลา 07.00 น.

Pang Kwan out of her area and went to the villager's farm, she has some dry crone which is belong to Mr. Dejt after that she went to the rice field and eat some rice. Our field staff brought Pang Kwan back to the forest readily.

Appearance :A relatively small turtle, weighing appoximately 500 grams, with a small, dark-brown, flat shell which is too small for its head to retract in to. When young its head is orange-brown, as it grows older the color changes to dark-grown. Its mouth is sharp with strong clipping jaws. Its legs are too big to retract in to its shell, but its sharp claws are useful for scaling trees or rocks in case of avoiding danger. Its tail protrudes visibly outside its shell. Description :Settles near streams, waterholes, canal and ponds, prefering to stay on land than in water, entrenching itself in grass brushes. Regions : India, Indochina, Malaysia, Sumatra, Indonesia, Philippines, Central and Southern Thailand. in Resident along the pool, pond, canal, lake, prefer on the ground, Diet: Plants, vegetable, fruits, fish, shellfish, crab, shrimp Breeding: Breeding in the water, lay eggs on the ground, 2-3 eggs per time, more than one time a year. Heosemys grandis

Distinguishing features: Head pale orange with faint black spots and streaks. Spikes in back edge of carapace. Pale vertebral keel on midline of carapace. Serrated rear margin of the carapace. Carapace is brown to olive gray in color. Plastron yellow with black lines radiating outward form a black blotch on each scute, although the black lines sometimes disappear in older animals. (Stuart et al., 2001)

Size: Carapace to 48 cm. (Stuart et al., 2001) Male/Female: Males have a slightly concave plastron and longer, thicker tails. Females have flat plastrons and shorter tails

Range: Thailand (in lowland an hill areas of western, southeastern, and peninsular regions), Laos (in lowland and hill areas in central and southern regions), Vietnam (in lowland and hill areas of central and southern regions), Cambodia (in lowland and hill areas), Malaysia (Peninsular) and southern Myanmar. (Stuart et al., 2001) Habitat: Aquatic. Streams and freshwater marshes at low to mid elevation. (Stuart et al., 2001) Key Threats: Hunting and trade

Diet: Omnivorous. Fruits, vegetation (especially leaves of water hyacinths), and animal matter. (Stuart et al., 2001)

Appearance: Big turtle, weight 12 kg. Some leave it in the temple and called " temple turtle", have lotus green shape turtoise shell at young , called "lotus turtle". Growing- up, it change to oval shape with black color, called "pot turtle". Malayan Snail-eating Terrapin : (Malayemys subtrijuga)

Distribution: Malayemys subtrijuga occurs in northern Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and southern Vietnam; it has possibly been introduced to Sumatra and Java (Van Dijk and Thirakhupt, in press).

Habitat: This turtle is an inhabitant of slow-moving water bodies with softbottoms and aquatic vegetation. It has been taken from ponds, canals, small streams, marshes, and rice paddies.Natural HistoryIn Thailand Malayemys subtrijuga nests in the dry season, from December to March. A clutch usually comprises 3-4 (5-6) eggs (Van Dijk and Thirakhupt, in press), but Nutphand (1979) reported clutches up to 10 eggs. The elongated, white, brittle-shelled eggs are 32-45 x 20-25 mm (Smith, 1931; Van Dijk and Thirakhupt, in press). Hatching of eggs collected in the wild (at 28-30°C) took an average of 167 days, but with large variations in hatching time—the last hatchling from the same clutch could emerge up to four months after the first (Srinarumol, 1995). Ewert (1979) reported that 11 hatchlings averaged 35.3 mm in carapace length.Malayemys subtrijuga is basically a snail eater; larger females also eat freshwater mussels (Van Dijk and Thirakhupt, in press). Nutphand (1979) additionally reported worms, aquatic insects, crustaceans, and small fish as part of its diet.

เต่านา จำนวน 63 ตัว ชื่อวิทยาศาสตร์ : Malayemys subtrijuga (Schlegel and Muller, 1844) ชื่อภาษาอังกฤษ: Malayan Snail- eating Terrapin ชื่อภาษาไทย: เต่านา ลักษณะจำเพาะ กระดองส่วนบนมีสันนูน 3 เส้น เห็นได้ชัดเจน และมีขอบเรียบ หัวใหญ่และมีลายเส้นสีเหลืองหรือสีขาว กระดองส่วนบนมี สีน้ำตาล และขอบสีครีมหรือสีเหลือง กระดองส่วนล่างมีสีเหลือง และแต้มสีดำบนแผ่นเกล็ด การแพร่กระจาย พบบริเวณที่ราบต่ำทั่วประเทศไทยและพบที่อินโดจีน มาเลเซียและ ชวา แหล่งที่อยู่อาศัย อยู่ในแหล่งน้ำ บริเวณที่มีพืชปกคลุมหนาแน่น แหล่งน้ำจืดที่ไหลช้าหรือน้ำนิ่ง แหล่งน้ำตื้นบริเวณที่ราบต่ำ เช่น หนองน้ำ คูคลองที่ขุดลอก และทุ่งนาที่มีน้ำท่วมขัง อาหาร กินสัตว์เป็นอาหาร หอยน้ำจืด กุ้งและบางครั้งกินหอยสองฝาขนาดเล็ก กฎหมายคุ้มครอง พระราชบัญญัติสงวนและคุ้มครองสัตว์ป่า พ.ศ 2535 ของประเทศไทย
