การเฝ้าระวังช้างด้านบ้านวังเชื่อม

คืนวันที่ 4 กรกฎาคม 2568  เจ้าหน้าที่พิทักษ์ป่าหน่วยเขารวก ซึ่งอยู่ทางตะวันตกของป่าซับลังกา ได้แจ้งว่า ช้างอาจจะข้ามมาผาไม้แก้วแล้วมาถึงด้านใต้ที่ที่ทำการเขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าซับลังกา ให้คอยเฝ้าระวัง เจ้าหน้าที่ภาคสนามมูลนิธิฯ และเจ้าหน้าที่เขตซับลังกาจึงช่วยกันเฝ้าระวังและได้จุดประทัดผลักดัน ซึ่งจากการสำรวจช่วงเช้า ชาวบ้านแจ้งว่ามีรอยช้างมาที่ไร่อ้อย เป็นรอยช้างวัยรุ่นเพียงตัวเดียว 

ต่อมาในคืนวันที่ 5 ก.ค. ช้างวัยรุ่นได้เข้ารวมโขลงกับโขลงพรธิตา ซึ่งได้ทำความเสียหายแก่ไร่อ้อยมากพอสมควร  

On the night of July 4, 2025, the rangers of Khao Ruak Unit, which is located west of Sap Langka Forest, reported that the elephant might have crossed Pha Mai Kaew and reached the southern part of the Sap Langka Wildlife Sanctuary Office, so they should be on the lookout. The foundation’s field staff and Sap Langka rangers helped to keep watch and set off firecrackers to push it away. From the morning survey, the villagers reported that there were elephant tracks at the sugarcane plantation, and they were the tracks of only one juvenile elephant. Later, on the night of July 5, the juvenile elephant joined the herd with the Prontita herd, which caused considerable damage to the sugarcane plantation.
