ตาพังดอกรัก

เช้าวันนี้ ดร.น.สพ.ทวีโภค อังควานิช พร้อมเจ้าหน้าที่ภาคสนามมูลนิธิฯ ประจำลำปาง เดินทางไปดูอาการของพังดอกรัก ตามที่ได้รับรายงานจากเจ้าหน้าที่ว่า ตาข้างซ้ายของพังดอกรักได้รับบาดเจ็บ คาดว่าน่าจะบอด และจากการตรวจไม่พบสิ่งแปลกปลอมในดวงตา ไม่มีหนอง จึงคาดว่า น่าจะได้รับการบาดเจ็บจากการถูกกระแทกอย่างแรง เช่น ไม้ หนังสติ๊ก หรือช้างตัวอื่นชน จึงทำการรักษาโดยทำความสะอาดรอบตาด้วยน้ำสะอาด และล้างตาด้วยน้ำยาล้างตา พร้อมให้ยาหยอดเพื่อคุมการติดเชื้อ และให้กินยาลดปวดด้วย ดังนั้นเพื่อให้เจ้าหน้าที่สะดวกต่อการดูแลจึงนำช้างมาที่ลำห้วยใกล้หน่วยแม่สะป้วด

This morning, Dr. Taweephok Angkwanich,DVM along with the Foundation's field staff in Lampang, went to see Pang Dok Rak's condition. As reported by field staffs that Pang Dokrak's left eye was injured, expected to be blind. And from the detection of no unknow objects in the eyes, no pus, it is assumed that the injury was probably caused by a strong impact, such as a stick, a catapult or another elephant hit. Therefore, the treatment is performed by cleaning around the eyes with clean water. and wash the eyes with eyewash then give drops to control infection and to take pain relievers. Therefore, in order to provide convenience to the staff, the elephants were brought to a creek near the Mae Sapua unit.
