Electric Fence Plan Elephant Reintroduction Foundation will undertake a new project by constructing electric fences to keep elephants and other wild animals from roaming outside Sublangka Forest. In a recent meeting with the EGAT (Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand), EGAT Governor, Kraisri Kanasutra, declined to finance the Baht 8 million construction cost of the electric fence as previously understood and to the surprise of his staff who had surveyed and designed the electric fence. The Foundation will go ahead immediately to construct the electric fence on its own and seek other financial support. EGAT will turnover the electric fence blueprints so that the Foundation can proceed with the construction.
