เจ้าหน้าที่ภาคสนามจังหวัดลำปางพบหมูป่ากำลังเกิดลูกที่บริเวณแคมป์ 1 ใกล้ๆ กับสระ 2 โดยหมูป่าได้ซ่อนลูกของเค้าไว้ในพุ่มไม้บริเวณนั้น เจ้าหน้าที่ไม่สามารถเข้าใกล้ได้ เนื่องจากหมูป่าหวงลูกของมันมาก

Elephant DNA Relationship Analysis Summary

Summary by Dr. Chatchote Thitaram, Advising Veterinarian of the Foundation:

Three pairs of mother-offspring in the Elephant Reintroduction Foundation 1) Pung Doraeme – Plai Doraemon 2) Pung Duen - Pung Dao 3) Pung Hua Dee – Plai Chalard were tested to confirm mother-offspring relationship by 12 microsattelite loci on chromosomal DNA (which was screened and validated) and maternity exclusion method. Microsatellite technique is very useful for individual identification and parentage test. Due to the Mendelian laws of inheritance, which one allele of offspring must be inherited from the candidate mother. Three mother-offspring pairs in every marker follow this rule. Therefore, 3 mother-offspring pairs of the reintroduction foundation are confirmed to be true mother-offspring with the probability > 99%. ช้างแม่ลูก 3 คู่ในโครงการคืนช้างสู่ธรรมชาติ คือ 1) พังโดเรมี – พลายโดเรมอน 2) พังเดือน – พังดาว 3) พังหัวดี – พลายฉลาด ได้ถูกตรวจสอบและยืนยันความเป็นแม่ลูก โดยใช้ ไมโครแซทเทลไลท์เทคนิค ซึ่งเป็นวิธีการตรวจดีเอ็นเอบนโครโมโซมที่นิยมและแพร่หลายในขณะนี้ในการบ่งชี้ลักษณะเฉพาะตัวและยืนยันความเป็นพ่อ แม่ ลูก ตามกฎของเมนเดลที่ อัลลีล (รูปแบบที่มีลักษณะทางพันธุกรรม) หนึ่งในสองของแม่จะต้องถ่ายทอดมายังลูก จากการตรวจสอบด้วยไมโครแซทเทลไลท์ 12 ตำแหน่ง (ซึ่งได้ผ่านการตรวจสอบแล้ว) บนโครโมโซมของช้างเอเชีย พบว่าเป็นไปตามกฎของเมนเดล ซึ่งสามารถยืนยันได้ว่า ช้าง 3 คู่ในโครงการคืนช้างสู่ธรรมชาติ เป็นแม่ลูกกันอย่างแท้จริงมากกว่า 99%

A very large tree had broken and blocked the road at kilometer 7. 5 in Sublangka Wildlife Sanctuary, Lopburi. The tree had been weakened by human burning of the trunk for sap.

Our new elephants : Plai Sutjai (Picture 3) and Pang Deejai (Picture 2) arrive to our camp 2 in Lampang at 06.00 am. Both of them come from Phechaboon Province.

Our field staff found Pang Malai and Pang Boonmee during they are tracking elephants in Doi Pha Muang Wildlife Sanctuary area,Lampang and all photoes above shown the forest which is still Luxuriant.

All area around camp 1 (Lampang) is getting dry in this month (April). So,our field staff pump water from pond 2 for watering trees nearby camp 1 เนื่องจากในเดือนเมษายน พื้นที่บริเวณแคมป์ 1 ของจังหวัดลำปาง มีความแห้งแล้ง เจ้าหน้าที่จึงช่วยกันสูบน้ำจากบริเวณสระ 2 มาใช้ และนำมารดน้ำต้นไม้บริเวณแคมป์ 1

As around Mae Yao Reservoir is getting dry. So, our field staff (Lampang) moved elephants into thick forest where still plenty of food. เนื่องจากในขณะนี้สภาพป่ารอบอ่างแม่ยาวจังหวัดลำปางแห้งแล้ง เจ้าหน้าที่ภาคสนาม (ลำปาง) จึงพาช้างของมูลนิธิฯ ย้ายเข้าไปในป่าลึก ซื่งยังคงมีความอุดมสมบูรณ์อยู่

Plai Mitri has never far away from Pang Sunee after they met each other. หลังจากที่พังสุนีย์ และพลายไมตรี ได้พบกัน พลายไมตรีก็ไม่ยอมห่างจากพังสุนีย์เลย

Khun Veera Agkaraputthiporn, Khun Bussayada Youngfuangmol agent from Thai Namthip Co.,Ltd. and Khun Phenpak Rattanakhamfu (Black dress), Mayor of Khokga district, Lampang visit an elephant (Pang Sunee) at camp 2 ,Mae Yao Reservoir in Lampang. The elephant was released by Thai Namthip on February 8,2007.
