ติดตามช้างเดือนพฤษภาคม

วันที่ 15 พฤษภาคม พ.ศ. 2567 เจ้าหน้าที่ภาคสนามมูลนิธิคืนช้างสู่ธรรมชาติ ประจำจังหวัดลำปาง ได้เข้าติดตามช้างในพื้นที่เขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าดอยผาเมือง พบช้างสองกลุ่มได้แก่ ช้างกลุ่มพังดอกรัก ประกอบด้วยพังวาเลนไทน์ (มีอาการตกมัน มีน้ำมันไหลออกมาจากขมับ และขา ) พังทับเสลา โดยมีพังสุพรรณษารวมอยู่ด้วย แต่ไม่พบพลายบรรหาร คาดว่าเข้ารวมกลุ่มกับช้างกลุ่มใหญ่ และช้างกลุ่มใหญ่ เจ้าหน้าที่ไม่สามารถเก็บภาพได้ เนื่องจากกลุ่มช้างนั้นได้วิ่งหนีไป จากการสังเกตของเจ้าหน้าที่ฯ กลุ่มพังดอกรักได้พยายามเข้ารวมกลุ่มกับกลุ่มใหญ่ แต่ยังไม่สามารถรวมกลุ่มได้ ตอนนี้ได้ติดตามช้างกลุ่มใหญ่อย่างห่างๆ

On May 15, 2024, our field staff Lampang Province tracked elephants in the area of Doi Pha Mueang Wildlife Sanctuary found two groups of elephants  : Group of elephants, Pang Dok Rak Contains Pang Valentine (In musth period, there was oil flowing from the temples and at legs.) Pang Thap Salao with Pang Suphansa  included as well. We not found Plai Banhan it is expected that Plai Banhan joined a large group of elephants.  The staffs unable to collect images of large group because of elephants had run away from the observation. Pang Dok Rak group tried to join the larger group. But still unable to join groups. Now the staffs following a large group of elephants at a distance.
