Fai Faek -Check Dam

The check dam the field staff built with sand bags filled with earth and fertilizer and planted with vetiver grass is holding well after the recent rains. The vetiver grass roots should grow and stitch the sand bags together to hold the check dam in place. Vetiver roots grow down 3-5 meters into the ground.

ฝายกั้นน้ำที่เจ้าหน้าที่ภาคสนามช่วยกันสร้างโดยใช้ถุงทรายบรรจุดินและปุ๋ยเพื่อปลูกหญ้าแฝกบนถุงทรายชั้นแรกนั้น ขณะนี้รากของหญ้าแฝกได้งอกและยึดเกาะถุงทรายเข้าด้วยกันเป็นฝายกั้นน้ำได้อย่างดีหลังจากที่ฝนตกมาได้ระยะหนึ่ง และจากการสำรวจพบว่า รากของหญ้าแฝกได้หยั่งลงในพื้นดินประมาณ 3-5 เมตร
