Pang Bua Ngern and Pang Bua Thong look forward to befriend the sole remaining elephant at the Park: Pang Kaew, and keep her company. Of 7 wild elephant at Phu Paan she is the only survivor. The other 6 have been killed by villagers. ม.ล.พิพัฒน์ฉัตร ดิศกุล นายสัตวแพทย์จากสำนักพระราชวังและคุณบัณฑิต เสาวรรณ คณะกรรมการที่ปรึกษามูลนิธิฯ พร้อมจดหมายส่งมอบช้างพังบัวเงินและพังบัวทองให้กับคุณปัญญา โคตรแสนลี หัวหน้าอุทยานแห่งชาติภูพาน เพื่อเข้าร่วมโครงการ "ทดลองคืนช้างสู่ป่า" ณ พื้นที่อุทยานแห่งชาติภูพาน จ.สกลนคร โดยพื้นที่ดังกล่าวเดิมมีช้างในโครงการจำนวน 7 ตัว แต่เนื่องจากได้ตายไป 6 ตัว ขณะนี้จึงเหลือเพียง 1 ตัว คือพังแก้วเท่านั้น
